One re-encode, which is visually lossless for anything you'd post socially. The panel tells you how much of the original frame survives the crop and whether it is being enlarged — a 16:9 source cropped to 9:16 keeps about a third of the picture and blows it up nearly 1.8×, which is inherent to the shape change rather than to this tool. If you need a true lossless crop, do it in an editor that can copy the stream.
About as long as the clip. The browser encodes the reframed canvas as it plays, so a two-minute video takes two minutes and the tab has to stay open. That is the price of not uploading anything and not shipping a 25MB codec to your browser.
There is no upload, so there is no size limit — but the whole clip is decoded and re-encoded live, so very long or very high-resolution files will tax the machine rather than a server. A few minutes at 1080p is comfortable; a 4K hour is not.
No. The crop is one fixed position for the whole clip. Auto-reframing that tracks a face is a genuinely different piece of software, and doing it badly is worse than not doing it.
Yes — the audio track is taken from the source and muxed into the export untouched. If a file exports silent, its audio codec is one the browser can decode but not re-record; converting to MP4 first fixes it.
